Members of the Calhoun County Library staff enjoyed making handmade, custom ornaments with the Council on Aging before Christmas.
On
Thursday, December 18, 2025, we went to Council on Aging to participate in
their Christmas Party. As part of this event, we helped participants make
custom ornaments. Using ceramic ornaments, Mod Podge, and single-ply napkins,
we made beautiful one-of-a-kind treasures. It was interesting to see what types
of images each person chose to put on their ornament and they all expressed
their creativity on each piece. This was a huge success and our lovely crafters
made some beautiful decoupage ornaments for decorations on their Christmas
trees. Some chose to make stars, Santa’s face, pine trees, snowflakes, and
other options that brought to light the holiday spirit.
It was so
fulfilling to spend time with all of the wonderful attendees at the Council on
Aging Christmas Party and to see smiling faces and unique custom ornaments. We
love that we get a chance to head out into the community and spread cheer to
those who might not get a chance to come to the library.
